About Austin

     Born and raised in Belgrade, MT I started guiding in Ennis in 2012, fresh out of high school. After working on rivers all over the state, I bought a house in Ennis with my wife, Callan, in 2019. I love that I can be fishing trout within 4 minutes of my house, and enjoy being in the center of the trout fishing Mecca that Southwest Montana is. I have a new guide in training, Riggs Reyher, my son born in January, 2026. He is a 6th-generation Montanan, and we hope he will enjoy the outdoors as much as we do.

    I have fished all over the country and the world, 6 countries, 15 states, and 4 Canadian provinces. I pride myself on being a diverse multispecies angler. I like to bring what I learn from other species and fisheries and fine-tune new techniques on our local trout.  At Wild Ace Outfitters, we strive to educate and teach as well as have fun wherever we are! While I always strive to put you on as many fish as possible, but your day with me is going to be about more than fishing. I want you to leave feeling like you know the outdoors just a little bit better than when you set foot in my boat.
